trucks

  • I generally ride slalom trucks which turn tight therefore are narrow and loose with medium size wheel clearance
  • but they do not turn extremely tight like a surfskate which is less stable at high speed
  • when I was a little kid my first skateboard had bennett trucks I had no clue what they were
  • but I would get a fuzzy feeling when I leaned into tight turns
  • their turning profile is parabolic
  • back then I did not realize they are what slalom racers used and are legendary
  • now I have some fully upgraded vectors with spherical bearings from https://www.sk8kings.com/bennett-trucks.html
  • they are also used in ldp (long distance pump) boards

researching some truck projects 2026-08-10

  • I ordered valkyrie mk4 slalom trucks for a trip I hope to complete riding accross washington southbound
  • main reason is they are safe
  • truck does not catastrophically fail if your kingpin breaks
  • this is because because they have 2 pivots if you break your kingpin the
